Economic conditions and pressure to improve time-to-value are placing increased emphasis on productivity and moving away from the shadow of shrink-wrapped software and towards the future of Cloud & SaaS models.
Before cloud was widely adopted, software products were installed on local servers, in what is known as on-prem installation. Traditional desktop software, costs companies a lot in terms of finance. Adding up the licensing fees for multiple users can prove to be very expensive, while Cloud, on the other hand, is available at much cheaper rates and hence, can significantly lower the company’s IT expenses, by eliminating the need for storage capacity, maintenance and resources to support those and providing easy access from anywhere at any time.
The natural evolution of the cloud became the SaaS products, where software is installed in the cloud, and users can use it without the need to install and maintain. This enables companies to focus on what really matters for them.
However not all companies seek to rely on cloud services for their needs. A traditional bank for example prefers having an on-premise solution to store and maintain their data. So their main concern is exposing their ‘secured data’ to the cloud.
Considering our clients concerns, we thought of creating a hybrid solution combining SaaS and on-premise, leveraging the benefits of each, with the ability to filter the client’s data and separating the sensitive data from the non-sensitive ones. This enables us to maintain security and privacy, as sensitive data does not go out of the bank’s internal network.
